Great logo designers need to be great thinkers! – Is this statement correct?
A little while ago there was a custom logo design competition won by Mark Keach for 2010 Merced Country Fair, quoted by Merced Country Fair. His designs will be published on T-shirts, banners, billboards, buttons, ads, schedules and other promotional equipments.
There is another logo design competition at Chippewa Falls, Winconsin for the 8th Annual Oktoberfest, for which thousands of logo designers will be competing against eachother for Oktoberfest.
So what makes a good logo?
Many people think that using terms like Good, Bad in relation to anything creative is merely being biased. For me the difference between what constitutes a Good, Bad or even a Great logo design is not as important as how “Effective”, “Memorable” and how “Applicable” that logo design is.
A logo may not be precisely well-designed, but have a rare quality or high visibility that represents the brand to the consumer better than anything else. It is that a unique logo will always catch eye of a huge audience.
Logos are the most powerful tool of recognition for many huge sports or foods brands. These days custom logo design has to be specific, professional and clean, as many people around the World recognises the brand by its logo, whether its for cars, sports or foods.
What is logo designing?
Logo designing is one of the most demanding and famous career choices. Every year number of students graduate from design schools with logo design skills but out of the many only few have the talent of designing that special logo. Open mind with broad think ability is needed in a designer to find the best solution for custom logo design whether it is for sports logos or food logos. What I mean by open minded as an ocean is simply that great designers also need to be great, often inspired, thinkers.
Adequate logo designing can be taught, but the creation of a truly iconic and memorable logo design cannot. It is within the persons talent, which is why those few who can genuinely break new ground in logo design become the best in the World.
